These articles are meant to be a generic introductory guide to give you some of the basics and bypass some of the frustrating problems and mistakes we all make and get you on your 3D way quicker.

I first got interested in 3D through my previous career as a project manager working with with 3D artists producing animation and 3D scanning for the Film and TV VFX industry and UK police forces on crime scene reconstruction and court presentations. Two very different sets of clients.

I managed projects including Cyber Scanning of actors for the Harry Potter series(2009), Alice In Wonderland (2010), 4th Kind (2009) and A Christmas Carol (2009).

I decided to start learning 3D modelling to understand and better manage the projects I was running. I soon realised that I found 3D modelling and animation much more fun and rewarding than project management, but my experience has given me a view from both sides of the fence.

3D Visualisation and animation can be immensely rewarding and occasionally frustrating. Its a steep learning curve that does not stop as technology and techniques are constantly being  developed.

I had experienced 3D artists show me the ropes who were and are a constant source of help and encouragement. Many many thanks to Steve, Jay & Soneil. Learning the world of 3D can be a daunting prospect so I decided to pass on what I have learnt so far.
